A story I never planned to begin

The story of Lumina Forever Home.

Our story

With love and gratitude

I never imagined I would end up running a dog rescue sanctuary.

Everything started with just one simple wish: to take my two dogs somewhere safe, far away from neighbours who constantly threatened to poison or beat them.

I only wanted to give them a peaceful life.

But little by little, I found myself unable to turn away from other dogs who had been abandoned, abused, or left to suffer. Some had even come dangerously close to ending up in slaughterhouses.

And somehow, one rescue turned into another. That’s how Lumina Forever Home came to life.

But the truth is, I have my limits.

I’m just a 36-year-old woman without a stable job, still taking on online work to earn enough money to keep everything going.

For the past two years, I’ve tried my best to manage everything on my own. But the medical bills, food, and daily costs of running this little sanctuary have become more than I can afford.

I’ve thought about asking for donations so many times, but I always hesitated. Seeing how some people exploit innocent animals for money made me afraid of being misunderstood. I never wanted anyone to think I was using these dogs to ask for money.

So I kept trying to manage on my own.

But today, I have to admit that I can’t keep doing this alone anymore.

I have outstanding veterinary bills and food bills that I simply don’t know how to cover. And no matter how hard I work, it never seems to be enough.

It isn’t easy for me to write this. But these dogs depend on me, and I can’t give up on them.

I’m not asking everyone to send money. Any kind of support would mean the world to us. A bag of rice, some dog food, help with veterinary expenses, a kind message, or simply sharing our story with your friends.

Every little bit of kindness matters.

I don’t know how long it will take to get through this difficult chapter, but I still believe there are good people out there who care.

If you can, please help me keep Lumina Forever Home alive.

Not for me, but for these little souls who have already suffered so much and finally found somewhere they can feel safe.

Thank you for reading my story, for caring, and for reminding me that I don’t have to face everything alone.
